Everybody needs their safe haven,
A place to go, a hideaway.
An area of their very own
That can be molded as they please.
It's just so hard to make it there
When I have to watch you leave.
I hear your voice, in that last goodbye
We always drag it out.
But long after you walk away
I still feel the need to shout
That I miss you terribly
That I want you horribly.
That no matter where you go
I want it to be you and me.
Convinced that there's nothing better
Like a naive child I dare,
To believe that this could last forever
Is it a possibility, to have peace and tranquility
that overpowers hate and hostility?
Against the odds, we can fight together.
Taking on the world forever
Knowing it's an everlasting battle
Knowing that there's no way to win.
But be aware that every second counts
It's time to let you in
Bring down the walls, unbar the door
That blocks me from myself
The scars and all the tears that fall
Will stain the purity,
The past could be the untimely demise
of "you and me."
